Sumatra official was admitted to Hindu Mandali Hospital and died yesterday while receiving treatment.
Tanzania Editors Forum (TEF) secretary Neville Meena told The Citizen that the media fraternity has lost an exceptional source who understood his duties according to his professional.
“Our industry requires such people in order to continue informing the public. Through Mziray, Sumatra was accessible whenever information was needed,” he said.
According to him, for private media reporters to access information from government institutions, it is always a daunting task. But, because Mziray stood for the truth, he was always cooperative, all because he knew well his responsibility.
For his part, Tanzania Bus Owners Association (Taboa) secretary general Enea Mrutu expressed condolences on behalf of transporters saying they have lost a supportive person.
“Whenever the association had a problem with Sumatra, Mziray was a crucial link in finding a solution,” he said.
When contacted, Sumatra director general Gilliard Ngewe he said that his institution has lost a mentor and a hardworking employee.
“The Authority will miss him a lot because he was instrumental in coordinating affairs of each department within Sumatra,” he said.
